Thanks you notes

A friend of ours who lives in the States was diagnosed with breast cancer.  She is a young mom with a 2 year old boy at home.  We wanted to do more for these great people but being so far there is little we can help with.  The husband had asked on face book how do you say thank you to so many people so they understand how much everything is appreciated.   I knew how we could help.  I made a box of thank you note cards to send to them along with a card of my own.  As awful as her experience is the doctors all seem to have a positive out look on her recovery.

My Paper Pumpkin

My new Paper Pumpkin arrived today. It's so exciting getting presents in the mail.

If you like the look of homemade projects but think you don't have the time or you are not creative enough this is the thing for you. Each month a kit comes with everything you need (except adhesive) to make the projects, cards, home decor, etc.
Are you an experienced paper crafter and think the projects will be too simple? This is still for you! Sometimes we have forgotten to make that card and realize it as we are running to the birthday party. Here is the answer to a quick card with all the supplies ready for you. PLUS..... I am loving the stamps that are exclusive to the Paper Pumpkin.

If you want to learn more about the Paper Pumpkin check it out here www.mypaperpumpkin.com or give me a call 403-210-1789.

Now I am off to create with my Paper Pumpkin.

Construction Birthday Card

Our friend's son's 3rd birthday is this week.  The theme of the party is Construction trucks.  I scoured all my and my friends stamps and papers, and couldn't find anything.  I know I have looked at a few stamp sets before, I must have always found something else to get instead.  So I searched online for a digi stamp and found www.http://scraporchard.com I also scraplifted the entire idea of the card from one of their samples.  I downloaded the stamps and a full set with papers and other die cut shapes used more for digital scrapbooking.   I coloured the trucks and added a little dimension to the other shapes with my copics.   I printed the trucks on the copic paper from scrapbookers paradise (I don't know the brand) and printed the patterned paper on whisper white cardstock from Stampin Up.
Copics: YR 23, Y17,Y15,Y13,W5,W3,W1.C9,C7,C5

Happy Birthday John!

Swap Projects for Calgary Stampin up Regionals 2013

I was invited to the Stampin Up Calgary Regional Convention.  I found out with only a couple weeks notice that there is a "swap" that is held.  We can trade projects with other talented Stampin up folks.  Since I only had a couple weeks I had to get stampin...  My project is simple but has a WOW factor.  I created a few colours and directions of the same card to show that just turning your project you create something different.

For the card I used...

Ink and Cardstock: Rich Razzleberry, Primrose Petals, Tangerine Tango, Lucky Limeade, Island Indigo

Stamp Sets:
Papillon Potpourri 123759,Summer Solstice 122037

Punch: Elegant Butterfly 127526

Embellishments: Rhinestone Basic Jewels 119246

I had such a great time at the convention I decided to sign up as a Demonstrator.  I am very excited and can't wait to start offering classes and workshops to everyone.

Happy New Year!

I've decided to get back to my little blog. Even if it is just a documentation for my own crafting.

Lil' Robots

Here is another layout/card combo.

I need to start by saying how much I loved this kit. Lil' Robots from My Minds Eye. It is from 2010 so it may not still be available. Sorry for teasing you. This was such a great find. My friends sons birthday party was a Robot theme and we had the hardest time finding anything for decorations. Just before the party came out the cricut cartridge became available and we used the cartridge to make all the decorations. Then just after the party an online scrapbook company had this kit for sale at just $5. I am a little behind in my scrapbooking so I am just now getting to those photos and the colours in the picture matched the paper perfectly. I love this kit! What a great find! All the papers and embellishments were from the kit. I used liquid glass on some of the die cuts to make them more like buttons. And I used one of the embossing folders for the robots cuttlebug.

Using a few scrap of paper from the kit the card were so easy. The robot stamp is Imaginisce Robot Rockin Snag 'me Stamps. The copic I used to colour him are W1/W3 / YR04 / BG18 / YG63. I used W1 to darken the orange and real to match the papers a little better and it worked out perfectly.

Little punkin

I have started to save the scraps from my scrap book pages to use with cards. I am hoping that by doing this I will stop adding to my big box of scraps. The colour combinations are already worked out so i just need an idea and poof I've made a card. Here is one of my attempts. The scrapbook page I made a while ago and don't know where all the supplies were from, all from my stash, all random places. The paper for the card was all scraps from the layout so I'm not sure the product lines. The stamp is Beebug from Whipper Snapper Designs. The copics I used to colour it are... Y13/Y15/Y17. 100. W3. V12/V17. G03/G05/G07. R24/ R27. B00
